Cookie Policy

Overview
This policy explains how FixByte uses cookies and similar technologies on fixbyte.be. We minimise tracking: only strictly necessary cookies are set by default, and our visitor analytics do not use cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the site and checkout to work. They do not require consent under EU ePrivacy rules, but we disclose them here for transparency:
- cart_id — keeps your shopping cart across pages (7 days, httpOnly).
- auth_token — keeps you signed in to your customer account (30 days, httpOnly).
- country — remembers your detected country for pricing and region selection.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language preference (en, fr, or ar).
Signing out clears auth_token. Completing an order clears cart_id. You can remove cookies at any time through your browser settings, but some features may stop working.
Analytics (no cookies)
When enabled in production, we load a self-hosted Umami tracker from our own domain (/stats/*). It records anonymised page views and does not set cookies. Visitor IP addresses are hashed before storage.
Payment and error monitoring
Stripe, PayPal, and CoinGate may set their own cookies or local storage when you interact with checkout. Sentry may capture technical diagnostics on errors; session replay on errors is configured with all text and inputs masked. These providers have their own privacy notices.
Managing cookies
Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent cart persistence, login, and correct regional pricing.
For broader data-processing details, see our Privacy Policy.
